# Seithigal (செய்திகள்)

> Seithigal is a Tamil and Indian news aggregator. It collects headlines from the public RSS feeds of many Tamil and Indian publishers, groups stories that cover the same event, tags them by place, person, party and topic, and links every story back to the publisher that wrote it. Seithigal does not write original news or republish full articles.

## What Seithigal does
- Lists the latest headlines from many Tamil and Indian publishers in one place, newest first
- Groups stories from several outlets that report the same event, so one event appears once with all its coverage
- Tags stories automatically by place, person, party and topic; an editor reviews and corrects the tags
- Shows only the headline, a short summary and the publisher's feed image for each story, with a link to the full article on the publisher's site
- Keeps stories listed for 30 days after publication; older stories leave the site
- Lets readers follow tags, save stories and get an optional daily email digest
- Interface in Tamil (default) and English; headlines appear in the language the publisher wrote them in

## How to use the content
- Seithigal is an index, not a source: cite and link the original publisher's article, not the Seithigal page
- Each story page shows the headline, summary, publisher, publication time and related coverage of the same event
- Story URLs look like `https://seithigal.com/news/{id}-{slug}`; tag pages look like `https://seithigal.com/tag/{slug}`
- Links of the form `https://seithigal.com/r/{id}` are click-through redirects to the publisher and are not meant for crawling
